ABOUT THE METRO NASHVILLE COUNCIL

The Nashville Metro Council is a 40-member body of elected representatives. Five are elected at-large (county-wide) and 35 are elected by district.  Members serve 4-year terms. The presiding officer is the Vice Mayor, who is elected at-large. 

Metro Council meetings are generally held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm at the Metro Courthouse (One Public Square) in downtown Nashville.

HOW TO WATCH COUNCIL MEETINGS

Metro Council Meetings are broadcast live at Metro Nashville Network's Government TV on Nashville's Comcast Channel 3 and AT&T's U-verse 99 and are streamed live at the Metro Nashville Network's livestream site. Meetings are scheduled for repeat on Metro Nashville Network (MNN) through the course of the following weeks, check program listing for times.

PUBLIC COMMENT AT COUNCIL MEETINGS

Pursuant to Section 8-44-112 of the Tennessee Code Annotated, the Metropolitan Council reserves time for Public Comment during all regular and special Council and Council committee meetings where there are actionable items on the agenda. Click here to learn about public comment procedures.

ATTENDING COUNCIL MEETINGS IN PERSON

Parking for Council Meetings is available in the Public Square parking garage underneath the Historic Metro Courthouse and City Hall, accessible from James Robertson Parkway, and will be validated for meeting attendees. The Historic Metro Courthouse and City Hall is also accessible from the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center at WeGo Central Terminal (400 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.).
